Gor: US, India very close to finalising trade deal

US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor has said Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be at the top of President Donald Trump's list of leaders to meet at the upcoming G20 Summit, while also hinting at a possible bilateral on the event's sidelines.

Gor also indicated that the Quad Leaders' Summit would be held during the time of the Summit, even as he maintained that such an event is not "set" yet. His remarks came during an interview with India Today.

MEA: UN's world map must depict India's official map accurately

Having voted in favour of the world map with equal-area projections, India said Sunday that the United Nations-initiated proposed world map must depict the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh in accordance with the country's official map, and any "inaccurate" or "misleading" representation will be unacceptable.

Rajghat artefacts: A 1950s excavation sheds new light on Varanasi's ancient past

The Banaras Hindu University (BHU) recently examined 22 boxes stored with it for around 70 years, containing more than 10,000 artefacts, including painted black pottery believed to be 3,000 years old. The artefacts were excavated from Rajghat, one of the oldest known settlements in the Varanasi region, between 1957 and 1969.

Earlier in August, experts had opened a box containing a human skeleton recovered from the same site.
