India's FY 27 growth outlook cut to 6.6% from 7.2%: World Bank

The World Bank has re-vised downwards India's growth outlook for 2026-27 to 6.6% from 7.2%, citing the impact of the war in West Asia on household and government consumption, as well as on industrial activity.

Amid the escalating tensions in West Asia and its impact on fuel supplies globally, Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri will be heading to Qatar on an official visit on April 9 and 10.

Qatar has been among India's largest suppliers of natural gas. However, amid the escalating tensions, Iran attacked facilities of QatarEnergy, which is among the largest sup-pliers of natural gas globally.
