Ukraine Launched hundreds of drones across Russia on Sunday, killing at least six people in one of Kyiv's largest aerial attacks of the war. Kyiv has stepped up its attacks on Russia this year, with long-range missiles and swarms of drones targeting military industries and energy facilities.

How the 1946 naval uprising hastened India's independence from British rule
On December 1, 1945, Navy Day was to be celebrated. But the night before, some sailors on the HMIS Talwar, a shore establishment (naval base built on land) in Bombay, hoisted brooms and buckets and wrote slogans like "Down with the British" and "Quit India". The commanding officer was changed and Commander Arthur Frederick King, was brought in, but the underlying issues of morale weren't addressed.

Independence day this year coincided with the US's National Honey Bee Day. A honey bee is a small insect that can sit on a fingertip. Why is it accorded such importance in the US? According to the UN's Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), the quiet role of bees as pollinators is responsible for almost one-third of global crop output. It enhances yields for 87 of 115 leading food crops.

The Madhya Pradesh government has begun a push to excavate and restore monuments linked to Mauryan-era emperor Ashoka, beginning with a fresh excavation of Vaishya Tekri-after an almost 90-year-gap-in Ujjain.
