It is universally acknowledged that young children learn best through their mother tongue. There can be no two opinions on the research findings cited in the NEP, 2020, which states that "children pick up languages extremely quickly between the ages of two and eight", and promises that "all languages will be taught in an enjoyable and interactive style, with plenty of interactive conversation". For the last 10 days, Jatru Munda in Ranchi's tribal village of Lapung has been nursing pellet wounds on his thighs, stomach, and back. The injuries, allegedly suffered in a confrontation with the police over a land dispute on June 3, are painful, and Munda has been getting treatment from a local quack after the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences, Ranchi, sent him back home without removing the pellet.

Around 57% of Indian districts, where about 76% of the country's population lives, are at high or very high risk from extreme heat, a recent study found. Delhi, Maharashtra, Goa, Kerala, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh face the highest risk from heat, the analysis suggests.

Pakistan 'continues to strengthen' anti-money laundering system: FATF

Pakistan "continues to work with its Financial Action Task Force (FATF)-style regional body, Asia-Pacific Group on Money Laundering (APG), to continue to strengthen its anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing system", as set out in October 2022, according to the global money laundering and terror financing watchdog.

The global energy market has its eyes set on the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict as the West Asian region is a critical cog in the international oil and gas flows. Indian refiners, too, are watching the developments closely as the region accounts for a significant share of India's energy imports. Also, any major disruption in West Asian oil and gas exports could lead to a surge in oil and gas prices in the international market, which would also hurt India.
