Eleven Years after the Supreme Court struck down Section 66A of the Information Technology Act, a Maharashtra government committee has recommended a state amendment to the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) to specifically cover defamatory social media posts, along with safeguards against its misuse.

The Government on Thursday amended certain provisions of the Foreign Trade Policy to make it easier for exporters to invoice overseas sales and receive payments in Indian rupees.

The amendments cover exports to all countries, although the rules vary by destination.
