- Senior Secondary with 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR
- Senior Secondary with 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Special Education (D.Ed. Special Ed) OR
- Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Must have passed the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) by CBSE.
- Must have studied Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, or English as a subject at secondary level.
For New Delhi Municipal Council:
- 12th pass with 50% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST).
- 2-year Diploma in Primary Education/ETE/JBT/DIET/B.El.Ed from a recognized institution.
- Must have Hindi as a subject in 10th.
- CTET qualification required.
- Desirable: Computer knowledge.
